  • iNoki v1.1 is released on Aug. 11, 2011. It's a major upgrade with support for Contacts.cdb, SMS exporting as PDF, more document types extraction and getting more robust.

    1. Contacts.cdb - Symbian Contact Database

Contacts.cdb file is the Contact Database for Symbian phones. iNoki v1.1 can read and extract the content of the .cdb file just as easy as .nbu files - just copy it to the iTunes file sharing folder and iNoki will do the rest work.

The extracted contacts are all converted to vCard contacts - you can browse and export them to your Addressbook.

    2. SMS Conversation exporting as PDF

iNoki v1.1 can export SMS conversation as a multi-paged PDF file which you can view in iBooks or your favorite pdf reader.

For current iOS SDK doesn't allow 3rd party apps to touch the SMS database, your Nokia SMS in .nbu file can only view in iNoki. With the PDF exporting in v1.1, you can now archive SMS in a better way.

    3. .PDF, .DOC and .TXT exporting

Using your Nokia phone, you might save some .pdf or .doc in your SD card, attach a .txt file in your Email, send a message via MMS. All these actions will create some document file which was packed in the .nbu file.

iNoki v1.1 will scan through the file system of the .nbu file and organizing all documents of .pdf/.doc/.txt into a "document" folder. Yes, you can view them in your installed readers.

    4. .ZIP importing for bug fixing

When extracting a .nbu file, iNoki will create a folder with the same name as the .nbu file, this folder will hold all the extracted content from the .nbu file. The next time when you try to open the .nbu file, iNoki will read directly from the extracted content folder to avoid the extraction overhead.

When there's an extracting error, you will not able to check the content of the .nbu file. You need to send me the .nbu file for bug fixing. I will send back the extracted content in a .zip file. You can then copy that .zip file to the file sharing folder of iNoki. iNoki will unpack that .zip file and read the content directly from it - you don't need to wait for the next release of iNoki to get the bug fixed.
